I was disappointed by this book after enjoying so many of Ms Greens other works. I found the plot lacklustre and looked in vain for any character development. It was as if Ms Green had had an idea for a plot but only roughly sketched the details and then decided to publish the rough sketch.

Not her best. But dont let that put you off reading her other novels - she is definitely worth your investment in time and energy. (And I have to add that I found the readers intonation did not add to my enjoyment of the book which might have soured my opinion.)
